The WORK Program DSP/Job Coach assumes responsibility for job coaching and assisting KAA participants with learning job task. This individual will report to the Director of WORK Programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to job sites within Greater Cincinnati to provide on-the-job supports.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with employers.
  • Aid participants in learning job tasks that will grow independence and build natural supports that ensure success in the workplace.
  • Be familiar with, and maintain Agency rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Document services and provide evidence-based recommendations and strategies to aid in the participant’s success.
  • Maintain a schedule and designate, in writing, a qualified employee to act in their absence.

Required Knowledge and Abilities

  • DODD and OOD policies and procedures
  • Developmental and intellectual disabilities
  • Ability to keep calm and composed in difficult situations
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Observant and intuitive
  • Strong sense of teamwork and interpersonal skills

Qualifications/Education:

  • Current driver’s license and a reliable form of transportation
  • Minimum of High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Education preferred
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience acting in similar role to aforementioned duties

Required Training

  • CPR and First Aid Certification and seizure action plan certification
  • DODD Direct Service Provider (DSP) certification
  • Additional training may be required
