About Us:

Ken Anderson Alliance (KAA) is a dynamic and mission-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a quality of life that enables adults with disabilities to develop and sustain lifelong relationships, independence, and self-esteem while contributing to the larger community.

The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, writing and submitting grant applications to secure funding for the organization. The person reports to the Director of Development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and gather information to support writing projects.
  • Collaborate with staff across the organization to gather necessary information and supplemental resources for funding requests.
  • Develop clear and concise project narratives, goals, and objectives.
  • Write letters of intent and grant applications, ensuring all required information is included and adheres to the guidelines set by the funding organizations.
  • Edit and proofread grant proposals to ensure accuracy, clarity, and effectiveness.
  • Manage grant reporting requirements and deadlines, ensuring compliance with funder expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous grant writing experience with a track record of securing funding.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Excellent research skills to identify data from dependable sources to support funding requests.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders to obtain required information and supplemental materials for funding requests and follow-up reports.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
