Ken Anderson Alliance Fall Fundraising Recap
Although it’s only a few weeks into the season of pumpkin spice lattes and changing color leaves, it’s been a busy fall for the Ken Anderson Alliance. We rely on community members like you to support our mission of creating LIVE, WORK and ENGAGE opportunities for adults with disabilities. Our fall fundraising event, the Legends Dinner, expanded to reach even more members of the community. Read on for a recap of The Belterra Park Cincinnati KAA Legends Dinner and Golf Outing, plus the 2021 Bengals Ring of Honor induction.
The Legends Golf Event and Dinner
Our annual fall fundraiser started with the Legends Dinner at the Paul Brown Stadium West Club Lounge. This year’s program featured 2021 Ring of Honor inductee Ken Anderson. He was joined by other local legends from the Bengals and Reds, including Marty Brenneman, Ron Oester, Doug Flynn, Anthony Muñoz, Jim Breech and Dave Lapham. 225 guests attended the event, emceed by local comedian Josh Sneed. Guests took part in raffles that included gift baskets, unique experiences, and one-of-a-kind Ken Anderson signed items. They could also purchase a football to be autographed by the Bengals and Reds Legends in attendance. It was awesome to see all the fans of our mission and Cincinnati sports stars gathering for a fun night downtown!
The inaugural Golf Outing was held at the Traditions Golf Club the following day. Ken Anderson led the charge in this best-ball tournament, joined by 29 foursomes. The weather held out and there was no rain for a pleasant October day of golf. Food options on the course were provided by Skyline (Burlington and Hebron locations), SubStation II and TBS Meats. Golfers took home a custom Belterra Park Cincinnati KAA insulated tote cooler containing a 6 pack of Kenny’s Dey Drinking Lager, a 3 pack of KAA golf balls, a Belterra Park Cincinnati ball marker, a KAA insulated tumbler, a KAA/Writely Sew/Aubrey Rose Foundation golf towel and a Just Brew gift certificate. Proceeds from the event support our innovative, inclusive, and supportive community for adults with disabilities. We would like to extend our gratitude to our 18 event sponsors and many in-kind sponsors of goods and services, as well as to the team at Belterra Park Cincinnati for their generous backing of our fall fundraiser.
After the exciting weekend, we are thrilled to report an estimate of $88,000 in funds raised after costs.
Ken Anderson Joins the Bengals Ring of Honor
Adding to this season’s excitement, our very own Kenny Anderson joined the inaugural class of the Bengals Ring of Honor, alongside other greats: Paul Brown, Anthony Muñoz and Ken Riley. The induction took place during the Bengals game on September 30th against the Jaguars: What a win! The ceremony took place at halftime, with the presentation of custom suit jackets for all four inductees from Pursuit. Thank you to all those who voted for our MVP to be included in this great honor.
