These are tremendously exciting times for Ken Anderson Alliance. KAA is committed to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities in the greater Cincinnati region through community-based recreational, vocational, and creative arts opportunities. As the number of people with disabilities continues to rise, it is essential that they have meaningful resources to live full and independent lives. Currently serving 300 people per month, KAA plans for aggressive growth over the next several years in order to expand our reach and footprint. Our ideal Director of Philanthropy has both a heart for KAA’s mission and the desire to be a key leader in elevating an organization with vast potential.

The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing a comprehensive fundraising and marketing program that increases, diversifies and sustains philanthropic support.

General Functions

  • Collaborates with the CEO to establish a unified vision for the organization’s philanthropic future, designing and executing both strategic and tactical initiatives to expand support.
  • Provides strategic leadership to the board, senior staff, and development team, focusing on cultivating relationships and advancing philanthropic giving through multiple channels.
  • Develops a comprehensive annual fundraising and marketing plan and budget, setting bold yet achievable benchmarks to drive growth and maximize impact.
  • Establishes fundraising and marketing operational metrics; tracks and analyzes performance and ROI; and recommends and implements data-driven enhancements to optimize outcomes.
  • Strategically manages a portfolio of 25-50 donors.
  • Oversees the development and marketing team, which is charged with increasing annual support through special events, grant funding, annual giving, and mid to major level giving as well as brand management, media relations, digital marketing, publications to ensure consistency of messaging and increase visibility.
  • Assists with building long-term capacity for the organization and develops and implements ideas, programs, policies and procedures based on the organization’s mission. 
  • Engages with the senior team to create impactful philanthropic asks.
  • Works with finance to ensure precise and timely reconciliation of fundraising revenue.
  • Serves as an enthusiastic ambassador of KAA actively building meaningful relationships.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications/Requirements

  • A passion for and commitment to the mission of the organization; experience working with adults with disabilities and/or disability service organizations is a plus.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in development for a nonprofit, including a proven track record of major gifts, annual fund campaigns, donor engagement and cultivation execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience with donor CRMs.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when needed, including, at times, evenings and weekends.
  • Experience handling multiple demands simultaneously and proven ability to produce high-quality results in a goal-oriented environment.

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: Competitive with similar positions in Cincinnati and commensurate with experience.
