KAA’s ENGAGE Program is Enjoying Spring!
Spring is here and the Engage Program has moved most of our outings back outside. There are 15 monthly opportunities in April and ten of them will be at outdoor locations such as the Cincinnati Zoo and area parks. Many of our Engage participants and volunteers have been getting their vaccines and therefore feel more comfortable attending in-person outings. We have been so excited to see our friends again! We will continue to add opportunities each month as needed to meet the increased demand.
One thing we have missed during the pandemic is the opportunity to give back to the community. While we are still not able to volunteer at Matthew 25 or the Free Store, we were able to volunteer at two tree bagging events this month sponsored by the Ohio Valley Forestry Fellowship. For Covid safety, instead of two large tree baggings events in one location, the tree baggings were held outside at multiple locations with a maximum of 10 volunteers at each site. The Engage participants & volunteers were able to bag 350-400 tree seedlings on two different dates, which will be given to libraries & schools. It was so nice for our group to have this opportunity to volunteer again!
Our Virtual Events will continue indefinitely. To access these activities, you can go to the KAA Facebook page. Our daily Zoom Calls with small groups of Engage participants will also continue. For some of our participants, this is still their only chance to socialize with friends.
Here is the Schedule of Virtual Activities:
Monday & Wednesday at 7:00 PM – Live Trivia
Tuesday & Thursday at 12:00 PM – Melodic Connections Lunchtime Live
Tuesday & Thursday at 2:00 PM – Getting Fit with KAA
Tuesday & Thursday at 8:00 PM – Bingo
Thursday at 2:30 – Getting Crafty
Stay healthy and stay safe!
