KAA ENGAGE Program Virtual Events
Although the ENGAGE Program participants, staff and volunteers can’t be together in the community right now, we can still interact with each other through KAA’s Facebook Live virtual events. To access these activities, you can go to the KAA Facebook page. We have also been doing Zoom Calls with small groups of Engage Participants. This has been a lot of fun and a great way to catch up.
Here is the Schedule of Virtual Activities:
Monday & Wednesday at 6:00 PM – Live Trivia
Tuesday & Thursday at 2:00 PM – Getting Fit with KAA
Tuesday & Thursday at 7:00 PM – Bingo
Thursday at 2:30 – Getting Crafty
Friday at 6:00 PM – Jammin’ with Emily
Some of the Engage participants who participate regularly in KAA’s Virtual Events & Zoom calls were asked why these events were important to them.
Diana said the Zoom calls are fun and she can learn more about some of the other participants. Beth said the virtual events have been keeping her from going crazy the last three months and now we have Zoom calls to make us feel reconnected to each other and the world. Seth said that he never had the opportunity to do virtual events and Zoom calls before and they are something he can still do when he can’t go out. Rachel said she likes the virtual events because if you win, you get a prize and that is fun! She likes the Zoom calls because you get to connect with friends you haven’t seen in a while. Steven said the online events and Zoom calls are important to him because he misses the outings in the community. It’s nice to still have contact with people. Chris said it’s fun playing Bingo and seeing your friends online playing too. AND… you win stuff! The virtual events and Zoom calls make him miss his friends less.
We are so looking forward to the time when we can resume the outings and spend time together in person. In the meantime, we are still staying engaged and connected online.
