About Melodic Connections and Ken Anderson Alliance

Ken Anderson Alliance (“KAA”) is a nonprofit based in Cincinnati. We create live, work, and engage opportunities for adults with disabilities, including integrated community-based, supportive housing, job skills training, adult day services and small group social experiences in the community. As part of KAA’s engage program, Melodic Connections music therapy empowers individual growth and community resilience through inclusive music performance, creation, and exploration opportunities. Our community music therapy program launched in August 2022 and has quickly grown to serve 28 adults with disabilities and more through group classes, adapted lessons, music therapy and open community music events.

Job Description

The Music Therapist assumes responsibility for the implementation of music therapy programs including service assessment, planning, documentation, and evaluation. Additionally, the Music Therapist assumes responsibility for the implementation of Adult Day Services, primarily the Melodic Connections music-based track. The Music Therapist takes leadership in planning, program development and monitoring of compliance with DODD regulations, with direction from the Manager of Day Services.

Salary and Benefits

Pay starts at $40,000. This is a full-time salaried position, with expected work hours to be 40 hours weekly. Work hours include an assigned caseload of direct service hours and office time. Benefits include:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy.
  • Current certification or in process from the Certification Board for Music Therapists required.
  • Access to reliable vehicle and willingness to travel to deliver music therapy services in the community required.
  • A passion for and commitment to the mission and values of the organization; experience working with adults with disabilities a plus. Experience in group settings also a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when needed, including evenings and weekends on occasion.
  • Comfortable working in a small team atmosphere

Training/Experience (Provided upon hire)

  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Person-Centered Planning
  • Annual DODD 8-hour Provider Training
