About Ken Anderson Alliance

Ken Anderson Alliance (“KAA”) is a nonprofit based in Cincinnati. We create live, work, engage opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities, including integrated community-based, supportive housing, real paid employment, and small group social experiences in the community. We are on an aggressive growth plan. Our ENGAGE program launched November 2017 and presently serves 172 adults with 21 outings per month. Our WORK program may employ 10-15 individuals by year-end in jobs that pay minimum wage or better. Our Strategic Plan calls for us to open our LIVE residential neighborhood in mid-2022.

Job Description

ENGAGE outings are small group social or service outings in the community comprised of 4-6 adults with developmental disabilities, one or two KAA staff (including the Outing Leader), and a volunteer or two. In a typical month, ENGAGE participants are able to choose from a range of options including, but not limited to, Reds games, bowling, dinner and a movie, FC Cincinnati games, volunteering at Matthew 25, trivia nights, dancing, arcades, and boating. A ENGAGE Outing Leader is responsible for managing the outing including ensuring the safety and satisfaction of the participants and volunteers, and reporting outcomes via a mobile survey tool. ENGAGE Outing Leaders report to the Community Engagement Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Be onsite early for participant arrival, and leave only after the last participant has departed
  • Utilize Google Docs to access information on each outing participant to understand any unique support requirements they may have, and to be able to contact their care provider or family
  • Conduct the outing with emphasis on safety, fun, friendship, and life skills-building
  • Post photos and updates for each outing on the KAA Private ENGAGE Group page
  • Submit outing outcomes reports in a timely manner for every outing using a Google Form survey tool accessible via smartphone or computer

Job Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license
  • Must pass an FBI/BCI background check and drug screen prior to hire and during employment
  • A passion for and commitment to the mission and values of Ken Anderson Alliance; experience working with adults with disabilities and/or disability service organizations a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or working toward a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Must be able to lead up to eight (8) outings per month, which is about 25-30 hours per month
  • Must have good weekday evening and weekend availability because that is when the outings occur

Job Type: Part-time (up to 25-30 hours per month)

Pay: $16 per hour plus expense and mileage reimbursement
