KAA Welcomes New Board Member: Carole Workman

New board member Carole Workman is joining the Ken Anderson Alliance Board as a self-advocate. As part of the KAA ENGAGE program, she participates in the adult day services program one day a week and works at the Just Brew Coffee House two days a week.

Carole, a graduate of Hughes High School, is one of 11 adults currently employed at Just Brew, part of the Ken Anderson Alliance WORK mission to provide employment to adults with disabilities. She has been part of the team since the store’s opening in July 2021 and has recently been promoted to shift supervisor.

Just Brew Manager Jennifer Tilford says that Carole is a fast learner, which has led to her rapid promotion. She is supportive of her coworkers and demonstrates great leadership. “She has gained confidence from her promotion and it shows,” Jennifer says.

“Working at Just Brew has given me important job skills and introduced me to coworkers who are now my friends,” Carole says. “I like meeting new people and talking to our customers.”

Be sure to stop by Just Brew for a cup of coffee and warm hospitality from new board member Carole Workman and her coworkers.
