KAA ENGAGE Program Update

Our ENGAGE participants had a busy summer! We fit in many favorite activities, including Reds games, outdoor summer concerts, Shakespeare in the Park and other plays. We also played trivia at local restaurants, bowled and much more.

Our participants love to give back to the community, too. We were excited to volunteer at the Free Store Food Bank and Matthew 25, as well as buying food to help feed the hungry and school supplies to help local kids in need get off to a good start in school.

In addition to our typical community outings, we now offer one larger group outing at the KAA office each month. These events include movies, bingo, dance parties, karaoke and concerts. It’s a lot of fun packed into one great gathering space.

We are back to offering our pre-pandemic number of 22 outing opportunities per month. The majority of our participants and volunteers are attending in person. It has been so nice to see everyone’s smiles again!

The KAA virtual events ended in July.. Attendance dwindled as the ENGAGE participants have slowly gone back to their “normal” daily lives. This is a good thing: It is always better to see each other in person rather than virtually. We will continue to do one Zoom call per week on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. for those who want to continue to check in online.

Stay safe and healthy and we will see you around town!
